World Angling founder Lee Hartman with an
Umba River salmon
Beginnings.......
In 1990 five Americans first embarked to the former Soviet Union to explore uncharted
Siberian rivers. Lee Hartman led the group in search of lenok and taimen, the world's
largest salmonid.  The
exciting Siberian fishing expedition led to the discovery of a
salmonid species never before classified.  The initial pioneering adventure opened the
door for Lee to fish and explore the Atlantic salmon rivers on the Kola Peninsula.
Today anglers from all over the world visit Russia to fish these great salmon rivers.
